Our friendly team of staff are qualified to either level 2 or 3 in NVQ Childcare or are working towards a qualification
and we are all trained in paediatric first aid.
We are very fortunate to have a favourable ratio of at least one member of staff to six children and often one to five. We have a trained Special Education Needs Coordinator, Behaviour Management
Officer, Health and Safety Officer and Safeguarding Officer and all staff are
trained in Basic Child Protection.
We run a keyperson system, whereby each child is assigned a member of staff, so that they can form a
special bond with them as they get used to being with us. Whilst all members of staff interact with all the children, the keyperson is
responsible for keeping detailed records of the child’s development and sharing them with the parents/carers. We encourage all parents/carers and children to contribute to these records and
celebrate the child’s achievements. When your child joins River Pre-school Playgroup you will be introduced to
his/her keyperson. A list of keyperson groups is found on the Parent’s Information Board in the hall.
We welcome parents into the setting at any time to discuss any concerns, raise questions or simply
enjoy watching your child at play and share their developmental records with. Please contact us if you would like to arrange for a meeting with either your
child’s keyperson, a supervisor or the manager.
