good news from home!
As you know each child at River Pre-school Playgroup has a keyperson who regularly watches and makes observations on the child to capture, understand and plan for his/her particular interests.  These observations also record any significant achievements that your child makes.

We acknowledge that many of the children’s significant achievements will occur at home with parents/carers/grandparents, and would like to give you the opportunity to contribute to your child’s developmental records.

We have produced some ‘Good News From Home’ slips (download here) to make it easy for you to pass on any information to your child’s keyperson.  We will make sure that there are new slips available for you to take on the self-registration table at the start and the end of the day, as well as a place for you to drop off any slips you may wish to pass on to us.

The information could be in the simple form of a photograph of your child’s achievement, or a written statement by the parent, or even written in the words of the child.  Including your child in the process will allow them to celebrate the achievement.  This information could also include significant events for your child.

Some examples of significant achievements/events might be:

• Peddling a bike independently for the first time
• Learning to drink from a straw
• A birthday!
• Being bridesmaid at a wedding/page boy
• New sibling
• No dummy
• Out of nappies/pull-ups
• Conquering the climbing frame at the play park
• Getting dressed independently
• A special outing

Thank you for your continued support.
